Rest in peace, uncle!

WALT: understand and use descriptive language.
I know I can do this when I use adjectives to describe.

On a sunny Sunday, my mum dad and I went to a funeral. One of my dad’s family members had died. He died from an illness. He had his funeral at the church he used to attend. All my cousins and relatives came to the funeral as well.

After we have arrived for a while, we walked into the church and sat down on some wooden, hard seats. We sat down silently so we would not disturb the peace and quiet. I sat down with my mum and dad. I looked at the parents and the kids, I could recognise some of their faces, from my uncles house last year.

When the church started, my auntie and her children went up and told some stories about my uncle of when he was alive. They all took turns and some of them cried a little but They were all strong enough to finish their readings.

After that some people came with colourful flowers and pictures of my uncle to decorate the coffin.

Then we went to the hall for a feast. After our feast people went to the graveyard. We didn't go because I was hungry so we walked to a man and he told us where we could go. It was nice of him to give us directions.

When we got to the shops we walked back to our car and ate. I ate my pie and chocolate cookies. After they came back we had to go to some ones house. When we got there, one of them thanked all of us for coming to the funeral.

After all that, we went straight home. I went to sleep because it was a long tiring day.

I felt sad that he died but glad he went to heaven.
