Yay! Let's watch the film!
Learning intention: We are learning to write a description about Manaiakalani film festival.
Success criteria: I know this when I plan a brainstorm and a script to describe the 2015 Manaiakalani film festival.
On the 11th of November, some schools including Glen Innes School, Panmure Bridge and our school St. Patrick’s School went to Hoyts cinema at Sylvia Park. All the schools went to Sylvia Park in separate buses. We went to Hoyts cinemas because we were part of the 2015 Manaiakalani film festival and this was our opportunity to watch the brilliant films from the other schools. We watched all the entertaining, exciting and brilliant movies at the Xtreme screen, this is the biggest screen in the Hoyts cinemas. All the films were from different schools in the Manaiakalani cluster.

Am I half Bionic?
We are learning to: understand the features of a head line.
I know I can do this when I write a head line that grabs peoples attention.
Half Bionic!
Surgeons in England have helped a patient from sight loss and have given him a “Bionic eye”. This patient had a vision problem that was related to Macular degeneration. This means over time, the patient lost his central vision until it was completely gone.
The patient was an 80 year old man called Ray Flynn who had only peripheral vision before his surgery. That meant that he was not able to see things in front of him. Thankfully to the glasses and the Bionic eye, it has given him a better vision.
The glasses hold a small camera that sends video images as electrical pulse to electrodes that are planted at the back of his bionic eye. The retina of the eye then passes this visual information on to his brain. They say that this was the only way for him to see.

YAY, I want to go there again!
On Friday 3rd of July, our school Saint Patrick's school (Panmure) had the most awsome opportunity to go to Aotea to see the people of the most awsome arts in the city. We all had buddies. We had to take car of them when we went to the city because it was really dangerous in the roads. We got there by bus. It was exciting.
The end.
I like the part where we got to see the people who performed moved there body's to the song and changing there body's into different shapes.
We are learning to write a short description about what we have done during a long day at the city.
I know I can do this when I write 1 short paragraph about today.

My awsome game on Saturday!
0 1
WALT: write a recount using language features to make my writing more interesting.
Success criteria: I know I can do this when I am using action words and describing words appropriately and correctly in my writing.
I went to my rugby game on Saturday. We played against Carlton Grammars at Varsity’s rugby field. When the referee blew his whistle at the start of the game, we kicked the ball towards the other team. They caught the ball and we ran forward so we could get back the ball.
We got the ball back by chasing and tackling the other team. My team mate ran forward with the ball and I called for the ball. Then he realised that he was about to be tackled so he passed it to me. I caught the ball and ran through the other team so I could get a try.
Luckily I scored a try because I side-stepped them. I heard my dad cheering for me when I scored a try. All My team-mates came up to me, jumped on me, hugged me and congratulated me when I scored the try, because that won us the game.
When the game was finished, my team-mates mum gave us some oranges to eat. After that, our coach announced the player of the day. It was my team-mate and I was the player of the day. I was very proud of myself.
We went home after the prize giving. I took a nice, warm shower. When I finished showering, I was tired so I went to sleep. I wrapped myself with a blanket.
I thought I was awesome in the game. It was the best game ever for me. Everyone in my team was very proud and very happy. I hope that we will be lucky enough to win the next game as well.
